IMPORTANT Questions and Answers
(1) Is it Gold Jewelry?
No, it is not Gold Jewelry but it is Gold Plated Jewelry. This is the whole concept of our BRAND where we make it look like Gold and you pay only a fraction of a cost and save money.
(2) What kinds of Jewelry do you sell?
Jewelry that we sell can be divided in 2 main categories:
1. Sterling Silver Jewelry: Our Brand is very well known for such jewelry that is represented by our Elite Collection and Fusion Collection that contains 92.5% silver content.
2. Mixed Metal/Alloy Jewelry: Which contains varying amounts of Silver. Such jewelry is carried in order to add variety to our collection and bring affordable class to our customers, with real beauty of gemstones and sparkling american diamonds. Some particular styles/pieces may or may not contain silver content depending upon necessity of the desired look to be given. Most importantly our charges are not for the metal/alloy itself but they are for the beauty and look of that particular jewelry piece involving making (labour), finishing, designing and stones used.
Our Brand is well known for Silver Jewelry where we specialize in Silver and Sterling Silver custom orders as well. We also do Gold and Diamonds Custom orders as well at the Lowest retail price guaranteed.
(3) Does the Gold plating come off or How good the plating is?
Each piece is manufactured by our own unit where we do very high quality of plating on our pieces which is meant to last a long long time. Problem happens with types of jewelry which are Gold polished but since our jewelry is given highest quality MICRO-ELECTRO PLATING which ensures maintaining their look of Gold for years to come without any change. Also as a testimony to our quality we have proudly sold thousands of pieces of our Gold plated silver jewelry without any concerns or complaints. Kindly do refer to our Jewelry Care section for added help.
(4) What are the different platings that are used and does it Tarnish?
We use Gold plating to make sure it looks exactly like Gold. Other kind of plating is RHODIUM plating which makes it look like White Gold. Even real yellow gold is Rhodium plated these days to make it look white Gold. That's why you get the expensive look and pay lower cost.
Most important point is that our silver jewelry has Gold and Rhodium Plating on them which is also called Micro Electro Plating, which DOES NOT tarnish. The main thing to remember that it is Plated NOT polished. Since it has the highest level of plating and finish it maintains it's look for years to come. We always recommend everybody to go through our Jewelry Care section which has helpful tips on: How to maintain the look of your Silver Jewelry forever? Anyways, each piece comes with an "Appreciation Certficate" that highlights the necessary Jewelry care tips.
Unfortunately vendors/manufacturers who do not focus on quality control have infact tarnished the name and quality of Silver Jewelry. It is important to know that Silver, infact, is the most wonderful metal to work with. Good Silver Jewelry is given different finishes which makes it so attractive to look at and in return enhances a woman's beauty manifold. Romika Jewels which is a known Brand for Silver Jewelry focusses on Quality all the way so that our customers can enjoy the value for years to come.
(5) What precautions to take?
Take care of this Jewelry like any other Jewelry. Keep it away from chemicals of EXCESS water for a longer period of time. (Little bit of water is never a problem, just do not take shower with it). Good example is take care of it like you take care of your Watch. It will last you long long time.
(6) Do you sell according to grams and how is the pricing determined?
It is important to know that mainly Gold Jewelry is sold Per Gram basis as it is very expensive metal. Since, silver is the most affordable precious metal it does not have a major impact on pricing Per Gram basis until it is sterling silver, which we always specify.
Silver or Mixed metal jewelry is priced on the basis of:
1. Design uniqueness
2. Quality of finish
3. Standard of plating
4. Quality of stones - precious or non precious stones
5. Stone settings
6. Labour involved (which is higher that the metal itself)
Unlike Gold, even if the percentage of silver is increased by 5% it really doesn't make a big price difference. The true price of our jewelry is based upon the quality of finish and the high quality stones used, which is always of the highest quality NOT matched by any other company.
NOTE: We don't charge for the alloy metal until specified as sterling silver.
(7) What percentage of Silver has been used in these items?
We have divided our collection in 2 categories.
"Sterling Silver" which has 92.5% silver and have been specifically marked as Sterling Silver, under description, on our site.
"Mixed Metal or Alloy Jewelry" which has fluctuating percentage of Silver from very little to high. Some particular styles may or may not contain Silver content depending upon the look and strength to be given to that individual piece.
It is important to know that Silver like Gold is generally soft metal and can easily bend so in order to give it strength we mix it with other metals like Copper, Zinc etc..Due to high turnover of the Alloy Jewelry we are unable to track the exact percentage of Silver content on each piece. Therefore, any enquiry regarding silver percentage must be made prior to the purchase.
IMPORTANT: Our jewelry is NOT sold on the basis of Silver Percentage until it is marked as Sterling Silver Jewelry. We charge you for the making, finish, labour and the quality of stones used.
(8) What if Stones fall off?
See generally stones should not fall off as we always make sure of that. But in case they do fall off then please bring the fallen off stone(s) back to us with the original jewelry piece and we will fix it for you NO CHARGE. We are always here to assist you in providing full value to your money, without failing.
(9) Is there any difference between Silver Jewelry and Costume Jewelry
It is important to know that Silver Jewelry is NOT costume jewelry. Silver is a precious metal like Gold and manner with which we manufacture our Jewelry it looks exactly like Gold or Diamond Jewelry. Costume or Artificial jewelry is priced low due to it's inferior finishing, low grade polishing, plastic beads etc.
The key issue we would like to highlight is that the price difference between costume jewelry and real gold or diamond jewelry is huge but the price difference between Romika Jewels jewelry and costume jewelry is very little. Therefore, it is better to spend that little extra and get a jewelry piece that will last you a lifetime.
(10) What if I am allergic to silver?
Kindly note that since the jewelry that we sell is plated with both Gold and Rhodium metals which are well known inert (inactive) metals are generally very skin friendly. Such plating is used to protect your skin to get in direct contact with silver alloy below the plating that generally helps people who are concerned with silver related allergies. So once you are wearing our jewelry your skin is simply NOT touching silver but it is touching gold or rhodium metals.
Though we do not take responsibility for any rashes or allergic reactions that may result from using our jewelry, but we have seen over the course of years that with such high quality plating it has successfully eliminated such allergic reactions amongst our customers.
